“The Bitterness of Poor Quality Remains LONG After the Sweetness of Low Price is Forgotten.”
Ben Franklin
This family owned and operated business started in 1949, when Don and Marie Ferguson cashed their tax refund check, purchased a new Montgomery Ward ladder and some tools and hit the road selling, building, and installing signs. As the company grew, Ferguson Signs rented larger and larger garage spaces. The first place of business was in Scottsbluff on Railroad Avenue between Avenue G and Avenue I, where Don built his own shop. In 1960, Don purchased 40 acres on the Scottsbluff-Mitchell Highway (Highway 26). This is where you can find their shop today. The current owner, Mike Ferguson, has actually worked in the sign business since he was five years old. He can remember crawling into tight spaces to hold bolts for his father while they constructed and installed signs.
